Kazakhstan government discussed preparations for cooperation forum with Russia

Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Trade and Integration of Kazakhstan Serik Zhumangarin held a meeting on preparations for the upcoming XIX  Interregional Cooperation Forum between Kazakhstan and Russia with the participation of heads of states in Orenburg in autumn. The press service of the ministry reported about it on Monday.


"Representatives of the ministries of trade and integration, industry and infrastructure development, digitalization, innovation and aerospace industry, information and public development, national economy and the chamber of foreign trade of Kazakhstan reported on the preparations," the message says.


Following the results of meeting, Zhumangarin instructed to prepare to forum in time.


Minister of Economic Development, Investment, Tourism and External Relations of the Orenburg region Denis Goncharov said in mid-June that the main topics of panel sessions during the forum will be the transport and logistics potential of the two countries, cooperation in the era of sanctions, digitalization of urban infrastructure and youth entrepreneurship.
The previous  Interregional Cooperation Forum was held on September 28-30, 2021, in online format and resulted in 13 documents signed between Russia and Kazakhstan.


Since 2003, the  Interregional Cooperation Forum between Kazakhstan and Russia was alternately held in Russian and Kazakh cities: Chelyabinsk, Uralsk, Novosibirsk, Aktobe, Orenburg, Ust-Kamenogorsk, Astrakhan, Pavlodar, Ekaterinburg, Atyrau, Sochi, Astana (former name of the Kazakh capital), Petropavlovsk and Omsk. This tradition emerged after a meeting between Kazakhstan's first president, Nursultan Nazarbayev, and Russian leader Vladimir Putin in Omsk in 2003.
