Kazakhstan Seeks to Deepen Ties with Russia Across Multiple Sectors

24 July

Kazakhstan’s government sees significant potential for deepening its relationship with Russia and is committed to further developing cooperation in a range of areas, Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov said during talks with his Russian counterpart, Mikhail Mishustin.

“Relations between Kazakhstan and Russia are progressing rapidly, thanks largely to the trust and ongoing dialogue at the highest levels of government,” Bektenov stated. “It is up to our governments to actively and efficiently implement the agreements reached by our leaders. I agree that there is great potential for growth in investment, energy, agriculture, digital development, and cultural and humanitarian spheres. And the opportunities for partnership extend far beyond these areas—our relationship is grounded in true strategic partnership and alliance.”

Bektenov also highlighted the importance of the 21st Kazakhstan–Russia Interregional Forum, set to take place this autumn in Uralsk. “This forum plays a vital role in strengthening regional ties, providing a platform to discuss new avenues for cooperation and launch joint initiatives,” he noted.
