13 November

The Parliament of Kazakhstan is prepared to adopt necessary legislation to implement agreements reached during President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev's state visit to Russia, Senate Chairman Maulen Ashimbayev announced during his meeting with Federation Council Speaker Valentina Matviyenko.

“The state visit of President Tokayev to the Russian Federation has brought our relations to a new level of comprehensive strategic partnership and alliance,” Ashimbayev stated during the meeting in Dushanbe.

The senate chairman emphasized that parliamentary support is essential for developing this enhanced partnership. “Kazakhstan's Parliament stands ready to take all necessary measures to adopt required legislation that will advance our strategic allied relations,” he affirmed.

Ashimbayev also noted the significance of Russian President Vladimir Putin's state visit to Astana in November 2024, describing high-level exchanges as opening “a new era of fraternal and allied relations between our nations.” He added that Kazakh authorities have reviewed the outcomes of Matvienko's meeting with Tokayev in Moscow and recognize the importance of inter-parliamentary cooperation.

President Tokayev's state visit to Russia on November 11-12 concluded with the signing of a joint declaration establishing comprehensive strategic partnership and alliance relations between the two countries.
