King of Bahrain Expresses Intent to Enhance Cooperation with Russia Following Putin's Re-election

King of Bahrain Sheikh Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa conveyed his congratulations to Vladimir Putin on his re-election as President of Russia and expressed his eagerness to further strengthen cooperation with the Russian Federation. This announcement was reported by the Bahrain News Agency.

 

According to the agency, in a telegram to Putin, the king "extended his heartfelt congratulations, wishing him success in his presidential duties and in fulfilling the aspirations of the friendly Russian people for continued progress, development, and prosperity."

 

Furthermore, Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa "commended the close bilateral relations between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Russian Federation" and "underscored his commitment to collaborating with the Russian president in bolstering these longstanding ties and advancing areas of mutual cooperation."

 

The Russian presidential elections, conducted from March 15 to 17, marked the first instance of a three-day voting period and the utilization of remote electronic voting, available in approximately one-third of the country's regions. According to the Central election commission's data, after processing 99.94% of the protocols, the incumbent head of state, Vladimir Putin, leads with 87.3% of the votes.
