29 January

Russian Minister of Culture Olga Lyubimova and Bahrain's Minister of Industry and Commerce Abdulla bin Adel Fakhro held talks as co-chairs of the Russia-Bahrain Intergovernmental Commission on Trade, Economic, Scientific, and Technical Cooperation. Among other topics, they discussed preparations for the Kingdom of Bahrain's participation in the 27th St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF), according to a statement from the Russian Ministry of Culture press service.

During their discussions, it was decided to implement a project at SPIEF that would showcase Bahrain's culture, the press service specified. Additionally, the meeting addressed plans for holding the "Russian Seasons" cultural project in Bahrain to commemorate the 35th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.

"As part of the prepared program, residents of Bahrain will be introduced to the best examples of Russian culture: workshops, lectures, screenings of cartoons and films, performances by dance and musical ensembles," Lyubimova explained, adding that special attention would be given to developing inter-museum cooperation.

One of the key topics of discussion was the preparation for the upcoming meeting of the intergovernmental commission, which is scheduled to take place in Russia this year.
