Russian Supreme Court Chairman Igor Krasnov has met with Turkey's Chief Ombudsman Mehmet Akarcay to discuss bilateral legal cooperation.
"It is gratifying that Russian-Turkish legal cooperation aligns with our nations' broader course toward enhanced political dialogue and economic partnership," Krasnov stated during the meeting held at Russia's Supreme Court.
The officials focused on protecting citizens' rights and legal interests in both countries, improving coordination between oversight bodies and courts, and strengthening public trust in judicial systems.
"Turkey's experience in this field offers valuable insights for Russia's judicial system, enabling us to compare national approaches and identify best practices for improving court proceedings," the Supreme Court chairman noted.
Krasnov expressed confidence that continued legal cooperation with Turkey would build trust and open new avenues for mutual development.
This meeting with the Turkish ombudsman marks Krasnov's first international engagement since assuming his position as Supreme Court chairman.
