The Kyrgyz side supports the establishment of mechanisms within the framework of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO), which provides for the prevention of the use of force between its members in the event of disputes and disagreements. This was stated on Friday in Bishkek at a meeting with CSTO Secretary-General Imangali Tasmagambetov by Head of the Kyrgyz Foreign Ministry Jeenbek Kulubayev.

"The minister drew attention to the need for further strengthening and development of the CSTO potential, especially in terms of preventing crises in its area of responsibility and elaboration of legally and politically binding mechanisms of non-use of force in resolving bilateral disputes between the CSTO member states,"  the press service of the foreign ministry reports.

The minister also noted that Kyrgyzstan considers the CSTO membership as one of the key directions of its foreign policy.

In turn, Tasmagambetov, who arrived in Bishkek for the first time as secretary-general of the organization, informed Kulubayev about the implementation of decisions of the CSTO Collective Security Council and the work plan for the current year. He promised that the proposals voiced by the Kyrgyz side regarding the development of the CSTO potential would be taken into account.
