Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and Secretary General of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) Taalatbek Masadykov met to discuss the organization's role in establishing a framework for equal and indivisible security across Greater Eurasia. This was detailed in an official statement released by the CSTO following their meeting.

"The parties engaged in a thorough exchange of views regarding the consolidation and further development of the CSTO, as well as ways to enhance the organization's overall effectiveness," the statement posted on the organization's Telegram channel read. "Special attention was given to elevating the CSTO's role in forming an architecture of equal and indivisible security in Greater Eurasia, and to deepening dialogue and practical cooperation with interested regional states and international associations."

According to the CSTO, the meeting also focused on the implementation of Russia’s 2026 chairmanship priorities. These goals were originally outlined by Russian President Vladimir Putin during the CSTO Collective Security Council session held in Bishkek in November 2025.
