Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov is set to make an official visit to Kazakhstan on November 6-7, as announced by Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova during a briefing.
"On November 6-7, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov will pay a working visit to Kazakhstan," Zakharova stated, noting that Lavrov will hold talks with Kazakhstan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister.
Zakharova explained that a primary focus of the discussions will be preparations for an upcoming state visit to Kazakhstan by Russian President Vladimir Putin. In line with the spirit of the Russian-Kazakh strategic partnership and alliance, the talks will cover a wide range of bilateral issues and pressing international topics of mutual interest. Additionally, Lavrov and his counterparts will exchange views on cooperation within shared integration platforms, including the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU), Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO), Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), and Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO).
During his visit, Lavrov is also scheduled to meet with faculty and students at a university in Astana, where he will discuss relevant topics with the academic community.
