The leader of Syria's new administration, Ahmed al-Sharaa, has extended congratulations to Donald Trump on his inauguration as President of the United States, Al Watan reports.
“We look forward to improving relations between our two countries based on dialogue and mutual understanding. We are confident that under this administration, the US and Syria will have the opportunity to build a partnership that reflects the aspirations of both nations,” the message stated, as quoted by the publication.
Al-Sharaa also expressed confidence in Trump’s ability to bring peace to the Middle East and restore stability in the region.
