Lebanon’s Health Ministry Reports Five Injured in Israeli Air Strike

09 August

The Lebanese health ministry has reported that at least five civilians were injured in an Israeli Air Force strike on the settlement of Hanaouay in southern Lebanon. The summary from the emergency medical committee, posted on Telegram, indicates that three of the injured required hospitalization, while two others were treated on-site by paramedics.

According to eyewitnesses speaking to the Al Wataniya news agency, Israeli jets continued to target border villages where militants from the pro-Iranian Shiite militia Hezbollah are based.

On August 8, two rockets were fired at a house in Aitaroun, resulting in the death of field commander Hassan Atif al-Seyid, who was responsible for defense on a segment of the southern front. Hezbollah confirmed that three of its members were killed overnight.

In a statement on its Telegram channel, Hezbollah reported that its fighters conducted an operation against Israeli forces, hitting Iron Dome missile defense systems near the settlement of Khirbet Monot in the Western Galilee. The statement claimed direct hits on the target, with casualties among Israeli soldiers and officers.

Large-caliber Burkan rockets were used in strikes on army barracks in Biranit, Zarit, and Ramim.
