Majilis of Kazakhstan approves agreement on import customs duties in EEU

At a meeting on Wednesday, Majilis deputies (lower chamber) of the Kazakh parliament approved a draft law on ratification of the agreement on joint control measures to comply with the procedure of enrollment and distribution of import customs duties and their transfer to the budgets of the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU).


The document was signed by heads of EEU countries on November 16, 2021, in Moscow. The agreement defines organization and conducting of joint control activities over compliance with paragraph 53 of the protocol on the procedure of enrollment and distribution of import customs duties, their transfer to the budgets of the EEU member states by authorized bodies of the union.


Ratification of the agreement is expected to ensure verification and control of enrollment of import customs duties to be distributed to a single account of the authorized body of the EEU country, the completeness and timeliness of the transfer of authorized bodies of import customs duties to be distributed between the budgets of the union, compliance with authorized bodies of the established for each state standards of distribution of import customs duties.


After the Majilis approves, the draft law on ratification of the agreement will be sent to the Senate - the upper house of the parliament.
