The policies of Western countries toward the Palestinian-Israeli conflict, particularly in Gaza, are immoral and hypocritical when compared to their stance on the Ukrainian crisis, said Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim in an interview with RIA Novosti and RT.
"I see a clear abandonment of moral principles and glaring contradictions in the way they approach conflicts like the one in Ukraine compared to Gaza. The contradictions are extremely apparent—I'd even call them hypocritical—but ultimately, what is really important is achieving peace," the prime minister said, speaking on the sidelines of the 2024 Eastern Economic Forum (EEF) and commenting on Western policy regarding the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
Anwar Ibrahim added that, in his view, peace can only be achieved by "ending colonialism," which he believes still exists today.
The Malaysian Prime Minister is on a two-day visit to Russia to attend the EEF. During his trip, he held talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin on September 4, where both leaders agreed to enhance cooperation across various sectors.
