Mali's transitional president attends Russia-Africa summit

Mali's transitional President Assimi Goita has arrived in St. Petersburg along with a significant delegation to participate in the Russia-Africa summit, as reported by a TASS correspondent.

 

The country's embassy informed TASS that around 80 representatives from Mali are attending the forum. They expressed optimism that the upcoming summit would strengthen bilateral relations between Russia and Mali, not only in defense but also in the economic sphere.

 

Moreover, the event is expected to witness the signing of several cooperation agreements. The diplomatic mission emphasized that Russia holds a crucial position as Mali's most important strategic partner.

 

Notably, the delegation also includes representatives from the private sector of the economy, indicating Mali's keen interest in expanding economic cooperation with Russia and attracting investments from Russian companies.
