Federation Council Speaker Valentina Matviyenko held a meeting with Tajik President Emomali Rahmon in Dushanbe, according to the upper house's Telegram channel.
During their talks, Matviyenko conveyed greetings from Russian President Vladimir Putin, stating: "I spoke with Vladimir Vladimirovich yesterday. He asked me to send his warm regards and best wishes, recalling his state visit to Dushanbe with great fondness and assessing it as highly successful."
The speaker emphasized the importance both countries place on their bilateral relations, noting that "significant progress has been achieved in recent years across economic, investment, and humanitarian spheres."
Matviyenko is leading the Russian parliamentary delegation participating in the CIS Interparliamentary Assembly's fall session events in the Tajik capital.
