Media: Gaza Residents to Begin Returning to Northern Areas at 8:00 AM Moscow Time

27 January

Residents of the Gaza Strip are set to begin returning to the northern areas of the enclave at 7:00 AM local time (8:00 AM Moscow time), according to Egyptian television channel Al-Qahera al-Ihbariya.

Citing a source at the Cairo-based Monitoring Center for the Implementation of the Gaza Ceasefire Agreement, the report indicates that the initial returnees will primarily be those traveling on foot. These individuals are expected to use the Al-Rashid road, which runs along Gaza's coastline, to return to their homes in the north of the enclave. The road will open to vehicles at 9:00 AM local time (10:00 AM Moscow time), the source claimed.

On Monday night, Hamas provided mediators with a list of Israeli hostages held in Gaza that they plan to release in the first stage of the ceasefire agreement. The document reportedly includes "necessary information" about the hostages, according to representatives of the movement.

Meanwhile, the office of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu confirmed receiving a list from Hamas with details about all hostages slated for release in the initial phase of the agreement. Additionally, Israeli authorities disclosed that Israeli citizen Arbel Yehud is set to be released on January 30, along with soldier Agam Berger and "another abductee" whose identity has not yet been disclosed. In return, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) will allow Gaza residents to begin traveling to the northern part of the enclave starting the morning of January 27.
