Indonesia may soon deploy military personnel to the Gaza Strip to join international stabilization forces on the ground, according to reports from the Israeli public broadcaster Kan.
Sources indicate that while the specific timeline for the arrival of the Indonesian contingent has not yet been finalized, the troops are expected to be stationed in the southern sector of the enclave, specifically in the area between the cities of Rafah and Khan Yunis. Preparations for their arrival are reportedly already underway, with construction of housing facilities estimated to take several weeks.
While the exact number of personnel remains unconfirmed, Kan reports that the deployment could involve several thousand soldiers. The Israeli broadcaster noted that Indonesia, the world’s most populous Muslim nation, would be the first country to send its troops to Gaza as part of this international stabilization mission.
