The military faction responsible for the coup in Niger in late July has declared its willingness to engage in discussions with the leadership of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS). This development was reported by Al Jazeera.
"We hold a positive outlook that talks with the ECOWAS delegation will commence within the upcoming days," quoted Prime Minister Ali Mahaman Lamine Zeine, who was designated by the National Council for the Safeguard of the Homeland, the governing body established after the coup.
