Turkish and Russian foreign ministry delegations have completed their consultations on Middle Eastern issues, which took place on Friday in Istanbul. According to a source in the Turkish Foreign Ministry, TASS reports, “a comprehensive exchange of views on regional matters, particularly Syria and Palestine, was held.”
The consultations, conducted at the deputy foreign minister level, were represented by Turkish Deputy Foreign Minister Nuh Yilmaz and Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov.
Yilmaz emphasized that Turkey’s priority regarding Syria is to ensure stability and security by maintaining the country’s territorial integrity and unity. He highlighted that the most effective and productive way to support the Syrian administration politically and financially is by lifting sanctions.
Additionally, Yilmaz told the Russian side that "achieving peace and stability in the Middle East, where interconnected issues and events are unfolding, requires a comprehensive perspective and coordination of actions by all concerned parties."
