Today in Tashkent, Rustam Minnikhanov, the Rais of the Republic of Tatarstan, held a meeting with the Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Abdulla Aripov.
It's worth mentioning that Rustam Minnikhanov is currently on a working visit to Uzbekistan as part of the delegation from the Russian Federation, led by Russian President Vladimir Putin.
During the meeting with Prime Minister Abdulla Aripov, Rustam Minnikhanov highlighted Uzbekistan's strategic partnership with the Russian Federation, exemplified by President Putin's visit following his inauguration.
"The leaders of our countries prioritize interregional cooperation and support our joint initiatives," emphasized Rustam Minnikhanov.
In the past year, Tatarstan-Uzbekistan trade turnover surged by 27%, reaching $370 million.
Abdulla Aripov commended Rustam Minnikhanov's personal efforts in bolstering relations between Tatarstan and Uzbekistan, as well as enhancing cooperation between Russia and Uzbekistan overall.
"All regions of Uzbekistan are eager to collaborate with Tatarstan. Whenever the topic of exchanging experiences with Russian regions arises, our regions express a keen interest in learning from Tatarstan's experiences," remarked Abdulla Aripov.
Both parties underscored the significance of organizing Councils of Regions of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Russian Federation at the highest governmental levels.
