Kyrgyz representative Mirlan Turgunbekov has been appointed Deputy Secretary General of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO). The corresponding decree was signed by the Kyrgyz head of state, Sadyr Japarov.
"Mirlan Turgunbekov has been appointed Deputy Secretary General of the CSTO," the Kyrgyz president's press service told TASS, explaining that this position belongs to the republic under its designated quota.
The previous Deputy Secretary General from Kyrgyzstan, Taalatbek Masadykov, was appointed Secretary General by the decision of the heads of the CSTO member states at the end of 2025.
