Mishustin to Attend EAEU Events in Kyrgyzstan on August 15

13 August

Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin will take part in a meeting of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council in Cholpon-Ata, Kyrgyzstan, on August 15, the Russian government’s press service announced.

The agenda will focus on deepening integration within the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU), including customs regulation, transport, exchange trading, the creation of common markets for medicines and medical devices, and environmental protection.

Participants are expected to agree on concepts for developing common EAEU markets for pharmaceuticals and medical devices, and to approve a program to advance exchange trading across the union’s common commodity exchange market. The sides will also review updates to the 2024–2026 action plan for implementing the coordinated transport policy of EAEU member states.

In addition, the meeting will discuss approaches to regulating climate-related policies. The press service noted that Belarus will chair EAEU bodies in 2025, including the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council.

A day earlier, the government reported that Mishustin would hold talks on August 14 with Kyrgyz Prime Minister Adylbek Kasymaliev, with discussions to include expanding practical cooperation in energy, industry, and transport infrastructure.
