Mishustin to Hold Talks with Kyrgyz Prime Minister in Cholpon-Ata

12 August

Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin will arrive in Kyrgyzstan on August 14 for an official visit, during which he will meet with the country’s Prime Minister, Adylbek Kasymaliev, the Russian government’s press service has announced.

The talks, to be held in Cholpon-Ata on the shore of Lake Issyk-Kul, will focus on prospects for further strengthening trade, economic, cultural, and humanitarian cooperation between the two countries.

The two prime ministers also plan to discuss expanding practical cooperation in energy, industry, transport infrastructure, agriculture, and other sectors. Special attention will be given to the “Moscow agreements” reached in July 2025 by Russian President Vladimir Putin and Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov, which included issues such as the operations of Russian enterprises in Kyrgyzstan, investment projects, and education.

According to the Eurasian Economic Commission, Cholpon-Ata will also host events of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) on August 14–15, including a meeting of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council. Participants are expected to review preliminary results of EAEU cooperation in 2024, particularly progress toward creating a common oil and gas market, as well as discuss concepts for developing common markets for medicines and medical devices.
