MOEX to start trading Uzbek soum

The Moscow Exchange starts trading Uzbek soum - Russian ruble (UZS/RUB) on September 12, follows from the message of the trading platform.


Currency pair "Uzbek soum - Russian ruble" will be traded on the spot market, with settlements "today" and "tomorrow". Also, swap overnight deals will be available for traders and their clients.


"The new currency pair will expand trading opportunities for professional market participants, their clients - individuals and legal entities, including subjects of foreign economic activity, as well as become an additional incentive for the development of settlements in national currencies for economic entities of both countries," explained at MOEX.


Earlier, on August 30, the Moscow Exchange lifted the ban on short selling of the currency pair "Armenian dram - Russian ruble."


Currently, more than 20 bidders are engaged in transactions and provide clients with access to the Armenian dram.
