Over 100,000 Russian tourists visited Malaysia in the first nine months of 2025, Malaysian Ambassador to Russia Cheong Loon Lai said at a business breakfast held as part of the Visit Malaysia 2026 national tourism campaign.
According to Malaysia’s tourism office in Russia, the tourist flow grew by 7.1 percent year on year between January and August.
“These figures are very encouraging. More than 100,000 Russia have already visited Malaysia in the first nine months of 2025,” the ambassador said. “Given this positive momentum, we are confident that the total number of Russian tourists this year will exceed last year’s 130,000.”
