Deputy chairman of the Federation Council Committee on international affairs, deputy chairman of the GSV Russia-Islamic World Farit Mukhametshin met with the new Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to the Russian Federation Abdurrahman Al-Ahmed.
During the meeting the parties discussed strengthening of the inter-parliamentary links between the countries as well as the preparations for holding a retreat session of the "Russia - Islamic World" Supreme Council in the Saudi Arabian city of Jeddah on November 23-26, 2021. The agenda for the upcoming meeting is "Russia and Islamic World - Dialogue and Prospects for Cooperation".
During the meeting, the Saudi ambassador said that the leadership of the kingdom attaches great importance to the visit of the delegation of the Group of Strategic Vision and will do everything necessary for the success of the meeting. He highly appreciated the results of the visit of the delegation of the KSA Organizing committee to Moscow on September 24-25 at the invitation of the GSV leadership. During the talks they discussed issues of joint work on the preparation and implementation of the program of the retreat session of the Group.
