New Russian Ambassador Presents Credentials to Kyrgyz Foreign Ministry

The new Ambassador of the Russian Federation to Kyrgyzstan, Sergey Vakunov, has presented his credentials to a representative of the Kyrgyz Foreign Ministry, according to a press release from the Kyrgyz Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

 

"On July 5, 2024, the First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic, Assein Isaev, received copies of the credentials from the newly appointed Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Russian Federation to the Kyrgyz Republic, Sergey Ivanovich Vakunov," the statement reads.

 

During the meeting, Isaev and Vakunov discussed a range of current issues related to the development of Kyrgyz-Russian relations, including the deepening of political dialogue and the expansion of cooperation in trade, economic, humanitarian, and other areas.

 

The previous Russian ambassador to Kyrgyzstan, Nikolai Udovichenko, completed his mission in the republic in June of this year and returned to Russia.
