20 October

Approximately 100,000 public and municipal buildings registered with local authorities have been completely destroyed in the Gaza Strip during the two-year Israeli military operation, according to a report from the Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics.

Citing data published by the WAFA news agency, the report states that since the conflict began in October 2023, “102,067 public buildings and facilities have been completely destroyed, while 192,812 state and municipal structures have sustained major damage.” Additionally, Israeli military operations have led to the total or partial destruction of 330,500 private residential homes and buildings.

The statistical bureau further reported that Gaza's water and sewage infrastructure has been at least 85% destroyed during the same two-year period. Preliminary estimates indicate that reconstruction costs for these essential systems will exceed $1.5 billion.
