More than 3,000 trucks carrying humanitarian aid have entered Gaza in recent days, addressing the severe shortages of food and essential supplies caused by Israel's blockade of the northern part of the enclave, Al Jazeera reports.
"According to the UN, more than 3,250 trucks with humanitarian aid have crossed into Gaza since the ceasefire agreement came into effect on Sunday," the channel noted.
The resumption of humanitarian deliveries became possible following efforts by Qatari Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani. On January 15, he announced that mediation by Washington, Doha, and Cairo had resulted in an agreement between the conflicting parties to release hostages and implement a ceasefire. The cessation of hostilities officially began on January 19.
