Pakistan’s armed forces have conducted a series of military drills aimed at enhancing combat readiness, as tensions with neighboring India continue to escalate., The Times of India reports.
Fighter jets stationed at Kamra Airbase—located about 60 kilometers from Islamabad—carried out simulated sorties to rehearse responses to potential enemy airstrikes. Simultaneously, live-fire exercises took place at the Tilla military range, signaling what analysts interpret as Pakistan’s readiness for possible confrontation with Indian forces.
According to The Times of India, the situation between the two nuclear-armed neighbors is growing increasingly volatile, with both sides visibly preparing for a potential conflict.
On Thursday, India’s air force launched a large-scale exercise near the Pakistan border under the codename Aakraman (“Attack”), deploying Su-30MKI and Rafale fighter jets, as well as the destroyer Surat.
The heightened military activity comes in the wake of a deadly terrorist attack on April 22 in the Pahalgam area of Jammu and Kashmir, which left 26 people dead.
