The authorities in Pakistan are urging against any escalation in South Asia following the terrorist attack in India's Jammu and Kashmir union territory. This statement was made by Pakistan's Minister for Planning, Development, and Special Initiatives, Ahsan Iqbal Chaudhry.
“We cannot afford to escalate tensions in South Asia. Instead, Pakistan and India must work together, combat terrorism, and focus on economic cooperation in the region,” he said in response to a question from TASS, on the sidelines of the first Ministerial Forum of the Economic Cooperation Organization on Sustainable Development. This regional organization includes Pakistan and several other countries from South and Central Asia, and the forum is being held in the city of Arkadag.
