Pakistan Election Commission Identifies Two Favoured Candidates in National Assembly Elections

The Election Commission of Pakistan has released interim results from the elections to the National Assembly, indicating two frontrunners. Based on the official data from the Election Commission, vote counting in  34 out of  266 constituencies has been completed. The Pakistan Muslim League (Nawaz faction) leads with  13 seats, followed by independent candidates affiliated with the Movement for Justice, who have secured  12 seats. The Pakistan People's Party is in third place with victories in eight constituencies.

 

 

Voting stations remained open for the National Assembly and provincial legislature elections on February  8, from  08:00 local time (06:00 Moscow time) to  17:00 local time (15:00 Moscow time). The tallying of votes continues, and the final results are expected to be announced within the next  24 hours.
