Pakistan Ready to Host US-Iran Negotiations

24 March

Islamabad is ready to host potential negotiations between Washington and Tehran if both parties reach a mutual agreement, Tahir Hussain Andrabi, the official spokesperson for the Pakistani Foreign Ministry, told CNN.

"If both sides are in agreement, Pakistan is ready to host the talks at any time," he said.

US President Donald Trump previously claimed that the United States and Iran have engaged in "very good and productive" discussions over the past two days regarding a resolution to the Middle East conflict. However, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei told the IRNA news agency that Tehran has not participated in any direct negotiations with Washington, though it has conveyed its positions through intermediaries.

Meanwhile, reports from Israel’s N12 and other international media outlets, citing diplomatic sources, suggest that a high-level meeting between US and Iranian representatives could take place in Islamabad as early as the end of this week.
