Pakistani Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has expressed interest in taking bilateral relations with Russia to new levels.
According to the minister, Pakistan is grateful to Russia for the implementation of projects in the energy sector, which, in particular, relate to the construction of power plants.
"For my part, I am very interested in taking Russian-Pakistani relations to new levels. We have recently summarized the results of the 8th session of the intergovernmental commission on trade, economic, scientific and technical cooperation. I hope the discussions will lead to building stronger economic relations between the countries," he said at talks with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov on Monday.
At the same time, the Pakistani foreign minister noted that relations with Russia are marked by "a mutual desire to expand and strengthen cooperation, as well as mutual respect and trust."
"We are grateful that Russia has expressed solidarity and support for the people of Pakistan who suffered during the floods. And I am grateful for your condolences on the incident in Balochistan (accident involving a passenger bus - TASS), which took many lives", stressed the Pakistani minister.
