Pakistan's Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari will represent the Islamic republic at the 21st meeting of the Council of Heads of Government of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Member States, to be held on November 1 in the virtual format. This was stated in a press release from Pakistan's MFA published on Monday.
"Pakistan attaches great importance to the SCO, an important trans-regional multilateral organization representing about half the world's population and contributing more than 24 percent of global GDP," the foreign ministry said in a statement.
"Pakistan's membership in the SCO reflects our interest in further developing relations with regional partners, aiming at increasing trade and economic cooperation through the development of transport and logistics links," the Islamic republic's foreign ministry noted.
It is specified that the meeting will be chaired by Premier of the State Council of China Li Keqiang. It will be attended by heads of governments and other representatives of member and observer states of the SCO.
