Palestine Calls on International Community to Halt Israeli Aggression

25 December 2023

Arab countries and the international community must adopt a resolute stance to halt Israeli aggression, urged Palestinian presidential spokesman Nabil Abu Rudeineh during a meeting of the executive council of Arab information ministers in Tripoli, as reported by the WAFA news agency.

Emphasizing the need for a serious response, Abu Rudeina stated, "A serious Arab and international stance is needed to stop the Israeli aggression. The Palestinian people are being subjected to an unprecedented genocidal war against the entire Palestinian presence in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, including Jerusalem, against which attempts are being made to erase its Arab and Islamic identity. Responsibility for these crimes lies with Israel and those who support it in carrying out its aggression."

"Israel's comprehensive war against the Palestinian people, supported by the US, has resulted in thousands of civilian deaths and hundreds of massacres that can be equated to war crimes," he added.

Regarding the significance of Jerusalem, Abu Rudeineh emphasized, "Jerusalem is a red line, and the Palestinian people will continue to fight for Jerusalem, for peace and justice. The Palestinian people will not give up their legitimate rights and will keep Jerusalem as the eternal capital of the Palestinian state."

The official underscored that the immediate priority for the Palestinian leadership is to cease the massacres of the Palestinian people and urgently deliver humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip. Additionally, he condemned Israeli authorities for blocking Palestinian funds, terming it "piracy and collective punishment for the entire Palestinian people."
