"So far, we have witnessed over 14,000 casualties and more than 30,000 injuries, with many individuals still trapped under the rubble. Over 6,000 people are reported missing, including 1,800 children. The majority of those affected—whether killed, wounded, or missing—are women, children, and elderly individuals. Israel's assault is directed against civilians, and this is unacceptable. It is in violation of international law," she stated.
According to the head of the Palestinian Health Ministry, 26 hospitals in the region have been rendered inoperative due to the Israeli operation. "We currently have only nine functioning hospitals with a total of 1,200 beds. This is woefully inadequate to meet the medical care needs," she emphasized.
As of November 21, according to Hamas representatives, the number of casualties from Israeli strikes on the Gaza Strip since October 7 has exceeded 14,000, with more than 33,000 people reported injured.
The escalation in the Middle East began after Palestinian Hamas fighters infiltrated Israeli territory on October 7, citing it as a response to Israeli actions against the Al-Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem. Israel responded with a complete blockade of Gaza, launching retaliatory strikes on the enclave and parts of Lebanon and Syria, with ongoing clashes in the West Bank.
