04 September

Palestine expresses gratitude to Russia for its support and solidarity in resolving the Palestinian issue, said Palestinian Ambassador to Russia Abdel Hafiz Nofal.

At an event held at the embassy in Moscow dedicated to defending the rights of the Palestinian people, the ambassador delivered his speech in both Arabic and Russian.

“We have gathered today to send a message to all those who care and to the entire international community. The leadership of Russia, its people stand on the side of law and justice, and so does Palestine. I convey the greetings of President Mahmoud Abbas as a sign of gratitude for your support and solidarity,” the diplomat said.

The ambassador emphasized that Palestine calls to “put an end” to Israel’s actions against the Palestinian people.

In turn, the head of the Arab diplomatic corps in Russia, Bahrain’s ambassador Ahmed Al-Saati, expressed gratitude to Russia “for supporting Palestine’s right to independence.”

At the beginning of the event, diplomats from several foreign countries in Moscow, along with the Palestinian ambassador, laid flowers at a memorial dedicated to the current situation in Gaza. Then the anthems of Palestine and Russia were played. A minute of silence was observed in memory of the victims in Gaza.
