Palestinian Embassy in Moscow Lowers Flag After Strike on Gaza Hospital

18 October 2023

The Palestinian embassy in Russia has lowered its flag as a gesture of mourning in remembrance of the victims of the attack on Al-Ahli hospital in the Gaza Strip, as reported by a TASS correspondent.

A peaceful gathering has formed around the embassy, with people bringing numerous flowers, photographs, and toys to express their condolences.

The strike on Al-Ahli hospital in the Gaza Strip on October 17 resulted in the tragic loss of over 500 lives. The Palestinian authorities attributed the incident to the Israeli Air Force, while Israel claimed it was caused by a failed missile launch by the Islamic Jihad group. In response to this tragedy, three days of mourning were declared in both Palestine and Syria. Subsequently, a planned four-sided summit in Amman, which was set to include Egyptian and US Presidents Abdel Fattah el-Sisi and Joe Biden, Palestinian leader Mahmoud Abbas, and Jordan's King Abdullah II, was canceled.
