The partnership between Tajikistan and Russia across various sectors continues to show steady growth. This was shared during a meeting between Rustam Emomali, Chairman of Tajikistan's Upper House of Parliament, and Valentina Matviyenko, Chairwoman of Russia’s Federation Council, as reported on the Tajik parliament's official website.

According to the statement, both officials expressed “satisfaction with the sustained progress in political, trade-economic, cultural-humanitarian, and inter-parliamentary cooperation between the two nations.” They emphasized the importance of fully leveraging the potential for bilateral collaboration, particularly in trade, investment, and cultural-humanitarian areas. The meeting also included an exchange of views on international and regional issues.

The discussion took place on the sidelines of the CIS Interparliamentary Assembly (IPA) Council meeting and the 57th plenary session in St. Petersburg.
