Patrushev discussed cooperation and the situation in Afghanistan with his Pakistani counterpart

Russian Security Council Secretary Nikolai Patrushev discussed bilateral cooperation and the situation in Afghanistan with Pakistani Prime Minister's National Security Adviser Mohammad Yousuf. This was reported by the press service of the RF Security Council.


"Issues of bilateral cooperation on the line of law enforcement agencies, special services and military agencies were discussed in detail," the report said.


"The sides also exchanged views on regional problems, including the situation in Afghanistan," the press service of the Security Council staff continued.


Representatives of ministries and agencies of both states also took part in the meeting. According to the press service of the Security Council, special attention was paid to the problems of information security and fight against drugs trafficking. In addition, the topic of trade and economic cooperation between Russia and Pakistan was touched upon.


"Summing up the consultations, Nikolai Patrushev noted the high dynamics of the development of relations between Moscow and Islamabad, the effectiveness of regular political dialogue, including at the highest and highest levels, as well as interaction within international organizations, including the UN and the SCO," the report summarized.
