Russian Security Council Secretary Nikolai Patrushev held a meeting with Iran's Supreme National Security Council Secretary Ali Shamkhani in New Delhi on Thursday on the margins of a regional dialogue on security issues in Afghanistan. This was reported to Russian reporters in New Delhi by Yevgeny Anoshin, press secretary of the Russian Security Council.
"During the meeting, there was a discussion of Russian-Iranian security cooperation," Anoshin said.
India, Iran, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan, which were represented by national security advisers or secretaries of security councils, participate in the regional dialogue on security issues in Afghanistan held in New Delhi. The event is chaired by Ajit Doval, National Security Adviser to the Indian Prime Minister.
