Patrushev told about Western pressure before Russia-Africa summit

The West is trying to force some countries not to attend the Russia-Africa summit, which will take place in summer in St. Petersburg, Secretary of Russian Security Council Nikolai Patrushev told reporters.

He reminded that the XI international meeting of high representatives on security was recently held in Moscow Region. During it, representatives of the Russian Security Council met with colleagues from Africa.

"There were 44 African countries. We met with all of them - either myself or my deputies. Each representative of the African side said that the ambassadors of either the United States, England or France came to them and did not just ask, but required them not to attend this international meeting, and the Russia-Africa summit," he said.

As Patrushev noted, many African countries said afterward that the West still treats them as colonies. He pointed out that Western countries want to dominate the world. "That's how they treat African countries. And that's how they want us to be treated. This will never happen," stressed the secretary of the Security Council of the Russian Federation.
