Pezeshkian Briefs Putin on Efforts to Stabilize Situation in Iran

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian told Russian President Vladimir Putin in a phone call about steps Iran’s leadership is taking to normalize the situation in the country, the Kremlin press service said.

 

According to the Kremlin, Pezeshkian “informed” Putin about “active efforts” aimed at restoring stability in Iran.

 

The two leaders also spoke in favor of rapid de-escalation, stressing that Russia and Iran take aligned positions in support of lowering tensions around Iran and in the region overall, and that emerging issues should be resolved exclusively through political and diplomatic means.

 

Moscow and Tehran additionally reaffirmed their intention to strengthen cooperation and implement joint projects.
