17 January

Iran's presence in the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) will give a significant boost to the development of bilateral relations between the republic and Russia, stated Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian.

During his official visit to Russia, Pezeshkian met with Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin.

"Regarding our cooperation within the framework of the Eurasian Economic Union, I am deeply convinced that our presence in this organization will also provide a significant impetus to the development of bilateral relations," Pezeshkian said during the meeting with Mishustin.

Earlier, the leaders of the Eurasian Economic Union approved granting Iran observer status in the EAEU and ratified the implementation of a free trade agreement between the EAEU and Iran.
