Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi is set to embark on a visit to several African countries upon the invitation of their leaders. The announcement was made by the spokesperson of Iran's Foreign Ministry, Nasser Kanani, on Monday.
"At the official invitation of leaders from a number of states, the president will be visiting the African continent today," - Kanani stated, as reported by the Tasnim news agency. - "Given the shared strategic vision and cultural ties between Iran and African countries, we aim to expand our cooperation during this trip."
The President's itinerary includes visits to three countries: Kenya, Zimbabwe, and Uganda. Kanani highlighted the significance of this trip, stating, "This visit presents an opportunity to foster constructive cooperation between the Islamic Republic and these three nations."
"Africa is a continent full of opportunities," - emphasized the Iranian foreign ministry spokesperson. - "In recent years, Africa's economy has been thriving, garnering the attention of many nations. African countries are displaying a genuine interest in developing relations with the Islamic Republic of Iran, as they find Iran's economic and technological capabilities particularly appealing."
Kanani further added that President Raisi's visit aims to establish comprehensive political, economic and trade relations with African countries.
