President of Turkmenistan Discusses Military Partnership with Turkish Defense Minister

President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov discussed bilateral cooperation in defense and military spheres with Turkish Minister of National Defense Yasar Guler. The official newspaper "Neytralny Turkmenistan" reported on the meeting.

 

Berdimuhamedov emphasized that Turkmenistan's military doctrine is strictly defensive. He noted that the country is creating conditions to enhance the combat skills of the Armed Forces and other branches of the military. The president reminded that Turkmen military personnel participate in seminars in Turkey to improve their professionalism and learn advanced military techniques. There is also a systematic exchange of experiences regarding the modernization of the National Army's technical equipment and the implementation of new technologies. The president and the Turkish minister discussed opportunities for strengthening cooperation in this area.

 

Guler also met with the Secretary of the State Security Council and Minister of Defense of Turkmenistan, Begench Gundogdyev. They discussed further development of defense relations between the two countries, particularly in the field of digital technologies. Both parties expressed confidence in the continued development of established cooperation.

 

The Turkish Minister of National Defense was also received by the Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty (People's Council) of Turkmenistan, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov. He noted that Turkey is a leading country in the defense industry, with which Turkmenistan has successfully developed military cooperation over the years. They discussed possibilities for expanding cooperation in this field, with Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov confirming readiness to consider proposals from the Turkish side.
