Russian President Vladimir Putin and Palestinian head Mahmoud Abbas will discuss the situation in the Middle East region on Tuesday in Sochi in view of Russia's ongoing efforts on the Palestinian-Israeli settlement, the Kremlin press service reported.
"Russian President Vladimir Putin and the President of the State of Palestine Mahmoud Abbas will hold talks in Sochi on November 23. The leaders will consider issues of further development of bilateral cooperation and the situation in the Middle East region in view of Russia's efforts on the Palestinian-Israeli settlement," the statement said.
Earlier, the Palestinian leader said in an interview with RIA Novosti ahead of his visit to Russia that he expected to discuss with Russian President Vladimir Putin ways to revive the political process on Palestine and counted on Russian support for the organization of an international peace conference.
