19 April

Russian President Vladimir Putin and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev are scheduled to hold talks in Moscow on April 22. According to the Kremlin press service, Aliyev will be in Russia for a working visit.

"The agenda includes discussions on key aspects of the ongoing development of the strategic partnership and alliance between Russia and Azerbaijan, as well as an in-depth exchange of views on pressing regional matters," stated the Russian president's press service.

During the meeting, the leaders will also engage with veterans involved in the construction of the Baikal-Amur Mainline. This project, overseen by Aliyev's father, the late Heydar Aliyev, during his tenure in the USSR Council of Ministers, holds historical significance for both nations, as noted by the Kremlin.
