Putin and Rahmon Discuss Strengthening Russia-Tajikistan Ties

Russian President Vladimir Putin and Tajik President Emomali Rahmon held a phone conversation to discuss ways to deepen cooperation between their countries, according to the Kremlin press service.

 

The two leaders expressed satisfaction with the strong strategic partnership between Russia and Tajikistan and outlined specific steps to enhance trade, economic ties, cultural exchanges, and security collaboration. They also agreed to assign government bodies and ministries to implement these initiatives.

 

Additionally, Putin and Rahmon coordinated their future meeting schedule, reaffirming their commitment to ongoing dialogue.

 

Their last in-person meeting took place in December 2024, when Rahmon visited Moscow. The two presidents maintain frequent contact, regularly engaging in direct discussions on bilateral and regional matters.
